The Candle Light style belongs to the great tenebrism tradition — the dramatic lighting technique that made Caravaggio infamous, inspired Artemisia Gentileschi, and gave Rembrandt his most intimate work. A single warm light source carves your pet out of the surrounding darkness, creating a portrait of extraordinary psychological depth. About the Candle Light portrait
- What kind of room does Candle Light look best in?
- It rewards a wall it can dominate. Formal sitting rooms, studies, dining rooms, dark walls, dark frames. Hung small in a busy room it loses some of its weight; hung large at 24×36 on canvas it becomes the room's focal point.
- Is Candle Light too dark for a memorial portrait?

- A clear, well-lit photo where your pet's face is the focus. Phone photos are fine. Avoid heavy filters, extreme back-lighting, or photos where the face is partly hidden. If your only good photo is imperfect, send it anyway — we work with what you have and will tell you if anything needs attention before we begin.
- What sizes and formats can I order?
